The Potato Chip Run...

Here is coach Glen at the beginning of our run this morning, handing two pringle potato chips to each of us.  Why pringles? Nice and salty, good electrolyte replacement!  Well, that may be true but that is not the reason.  Glen's father was a marathoner (new noun for me), and when he started teaching Glen, he made him run with pringles in his hands in order to stay relaxed.  The task is to complete your run without breaking the chips.  In order to avoid breaking the chips, your hands have to stay relaxed...if your hands are relaxed, your arms are relaxed, your shoulders are relaxed, and so on.

Well, I ran about 6.5 miles today with Coach Glen and Andy, and lets just say that if sweat wasn't an issue, I would have succeeded....really!  I ended up with only a 'slight stress fracture in my left chip', and only because the sweat made the chip soggy and weak.  And, forget about licking the chip after the run (which is more tempting than you might think!)...the sweat ruins them as post-race nutrition.

Go Team!  Most of us were successful...
